Scab continues to be observed in winter wheat and early-seeded spring wheat fields. Through conversations with growers and Area Extension Specialists, an early-flowering fungicide application was effective in suppressing scab incidence levels. In the past few days, some areas of the state have experienced rain events and moderate temperatures, which may increase the risk of scab in flowering small grains. As indicated by the risk assessment map, the highest risk for scab development is in the northern half of ND.
