Prof Ray is a plant pathologist with expertise in disease epidemiology and control. Her work is focused on host-pathogen interactions, disease physiology, varietal resistance and integrated disease management of cereal diseases including Fusarium head blight. She has established industry collaborations to develop guidelines and control strategies for Fusarium head blight and associated mycotoxins in cereals to maintain and improve crop yield and quality. Her group also works on pathogen diagnostics, Fusarium-aphid interactions relevant to the epidemiology of the disease, aphid resistance and pest management.
