USWBSI Project Pre-Proposal Forms & Templates

Letter of Intent

• All PIs who want their project considered in the Coordinated Project (Category 1 & 2) or Transformational Science (Category 4) categories, must first submit an online Letter of Intent form for the appropriate category. 

Pre-Proposal Submission Form

• Again this year, the FY24 Pre-Proposal Submission Form is online. Make sure to start your pre-proposal in the updated USWBSI Submission Portal (just need your project title, research category and project grain class to initiate the form) and then use the following applicable forms and templates for uploading into your Pre-Proposal Submission Form.

Upload Forms & Templates into the Online Pre-Proposal Submission Form (all categories)

• Current and Pending Support Form (preferred, but other USDA versions of Current and Pending Support forms are accepted, i.e., NIFA/AFRI)
• Project Pre-Proposal Materials Template (for Project Summary & Project Description)
• Budget Justification Worksheet & Budget Summary Template – Single PI version* 
• Budget Justification Worksheet & Budget Summary Template – Multi-PI version* 
• Sponsored Programs Office Cover Page (only if required by your institution)

*Budget templates were designed for use in Microsoft Excel only, use in Google Sheets is not recommended as all functionality and formatting does not transfer. Google users should download and open in Microsoft Excel before using. (Right click the link and choose "save as...")
