Abstract:

The Milling of wheat is more than just an operation in food manufacturing, at its core it is a consistent partnership of science, environment, systems, and people. Siemer Milling and our industry peers are depended upon every year, all year to provide a consistent, quality, nutritious products that ultimately end up feeding our communities through food and feed. The raw material is not grown in a controlled environment, quite the opposite when you calculate all the factors and variables to go into creating a milling quality food grain. The research and development USWBSI that is consistently funded have benefited our industry greatly, along with helping us develop our own systems to mitigate the risks and costs associated with fusarium head blight and vomitoxin. I’ll discuss Siemer Milling’s history and industry presence. I’ll provide perspective on Siemer Milling’s current strategies used to provide a consistent market for growers, wheat supply for our milling operations, and deliver consistency that our customers and consumers expect from wheat-based flours and co-products.
